Reviews of last Yoga retreat
This retreat was so transformative. I went into it not knowing really what to expect, and I left with a new group of friends (including the crew at Khaya) and a new outlook on what I wanted from life.
The accommodation is so beautiful. Miri has taken time with so many little details, and meal times were next level, we were fed like queens! The location was great, and I could take a run along the beach every day.
The activities were what really got me the most. We did yoga in the most amazing locations, and even though I am a beginner the teacher would give different poses according to the varying levels of everybody which made me feel comfortable.
We also went for hikes and camped under the stars. Everywhere we went the scenery was so incredible and the hikes were in places where they weren’t many tourists, so that felt really special. During the retreat, I felt so welcomed by Miri and her friends in South Africa that I am now considering moving there, so I guess it ended up being so much more than just a retreat. If you’re trying to choose which retreat I was, then pick this one! You won’t regret it.

First let me say that Miri is just the sweetest host you will ever meet, and you can tell that she really cares if her guests are comfortable and having a good time. The lodge truely is dreamy.
It's very nicely located near (walking distance) the beach and shopping/entertainment center that has anything you really need.
Second, the retreat itself is great fun. Yoga every day was relaxing and rejuvenating. Perfect for beginners and those more experienced in their practice. Miri adjusted each day's practice as the needs of the group changed. The campsites were nice and clean and offered beautiful views of the desert and mountains.
The hikes...the hikes! The hikes are not for the faint of heart. Stunning scenery and a once in a lifetime experience, but for me quite challenging. They are definitely more suited toward intermediate/advanced hikers. That being said, Miri, her volunteers, and the rest of the group were super supportive and always ready to help.
The food was amazing too. It's great to be part of the cooking since it really helps you bond to the group in a simple way.
I chose this retreat because it's an excellent value for the price.

If you are open and free and looking for fun and adventure, along with a chance to push your boundaries and connect with like-minded people, this is the perfect retreat for you.
A true adventure and maybe a little more than I originally bargained for. Miri, who leads the trip, with incredible drive and cheer managed to take us to some unforgettable places deep in the Cederberg wilds which without her there many of us would likely not have dared attempt. I loved everything about the trip and the only thing I would have wanted differently for myself is a longer stay in Cape Town.
